Ist das der große Wurf für Schulbibliotheksgebäude in Südafrika? Dieser Bibliotheksbau wurde 2010 für die MC Weiler Grundschule in Alexandra in Auftrag gegeben und soll als Blaupause für Schulbibliotheken im ganzen Land dienen. Der ursprüngliche Entwurf konnte damals aus finanziellen Gründen nicht umgesetzt werden, aber sein kleiner “Bruder” soll alle Bereiche einer Bibliothek beherbergen. “Seed” = “Same ist dabei Programm.

The SEED is made up of the basics of a school library; a place to access information, do homework and read, and it represents the key concepts identified in the originally designed library, albeit in their most basic form. It is a working example of an exciting stimulating place that not only houses knowledge, but also, through the use of colour, shape, light and outdoor space, gives the user an inspiring experience when accessing it.
