Cycling for Libraries starten dieses Jahr zum dritten Mal, diesmal unter dem Motto: “Libraries have a big role in society”. Die Organisatoren und Teilnehmer wollen einmal mehr zeigen: “Bibliotheken machen den Unterschied”. Doch welche Rolle spielen Bibliotheken heute? Eine kleine Einstimmung bietet dieser Film, der zeigt, Bibliotheke als Orte sind immer noch unverzichtbar.

Internationally, public libraries offer information and communication technology (ICT) services, giving “access to information and knowledge” the “highest priority.”

Die Shutesbury Public Library in Shutesbury (Massachusetts) sammelt derzeit Spenden, um ihr altes Bibliotheksgebäude aus dem Jahr 1902 durch einen Neubau zu ersetzen. Um für ihr Anliegen zu werben haben das Bibliothekspersonal und deren Nutzer_innen dieses ansprechende und kreative Video gedreht.
