Auch hierzulande und weltweit war der am 11. August verstorbene Schauspieler Robin Williams sehr bekannt und erfreute sich bei Jung und Alt einer großen Beliebtheit. Das folgende Video wurde 1996 für die San Francisco Library aufgenommen und macht die Wandlungsfähigkeit, die Genialität und den Humor des Künstlers deutlich.

Ein Nachtrag: BRain 12 ist online
Auch diesmal ist uns leider entgangen, dass seit dem 11. Februar die aktuelle Ausgabe von BRaIn erschienen ist. Liebes BRain-Team, Ihr könnt uns, dem Bibliothekarisch-Team gerne nächstes Mal rechtzeitig Bescheid geben, damit uns das nicht wieder entgeht. In diesem Jahr war die Truppe um Prof. Stephan Büttner in Spanien. “BRain was in Spain”. In der Einleitung macht Prof. Stephan Büttner, dass es bis dato immer noch keine vergleichbaren Projekte auf internationaler/europäischer Ebene gibt und die Bobcatsss-Tagung deshalb eine Zukunft hat.
Eva May stellte in einem weiteren Artikel die Thematik Library (R)evolution: Promoting sustainable information practices. der diesjährigen Konferenz vor. Sie ging auf das Besondere an der ”Studierendenkonferenz” ein und die zahlreichen Herkunftsländer der TeilnehmerInnnen. Dabei hob sie folgende Fragen hervor: “Sind e-books wirklich weniger umweltbelastend als gedruckte Bücher? Wie können Bibliotheken sich nachhaltiger einrichten, als Gebäude, als Dienstleister? Und was ist die Rolle der Bibliothekare bei der Aufklärung von Fragen der Ökologie und Nachhaltigkeit?”
Neben den klassischen Sehenswürdigkeiten in und rund um Barcelona, beschrieb der folgende Artikel die Besuche der katalanischen Nationalbibliothek, der katalanischen Filmothek oder auch der Bücherei und des Archivs des zeitgenössischen Kunstmuseums Barcelonas, dem Dokumentationszentrum des FC Barcelonas und der Bücherei des katalanischen Kunstmuseums oder der Bücherei der Sagrada Familia.. Melanie Klotz ging auf die Social Events ein, unter anderem dem Gala-Dinner im Restaurant „1881“.
Anna Palme schrieb in “Barcelona: Von Zafón und den Bibliotheken der Stadt” über die Spezialbibliotheken, welche den autonomen Charakter Katalaniens deutlich werden ließen.
In einem letzten Artikel befasste sich Anna Smuda ausführlich mit dem Bibliothekswesen in Spanien. Zu diesem Thema interessiert mich vor allem noch die Schwierigkeiten und Widrigkeiten für eine Neuorientierung des Bibliothekswesens durch den bis 1975 andauernden Franco-Faschismus bis heute ergeben. Gab es hierzu Vorträge? Welche Nachwirkungen sind durch diese lange Zeit bis heute spürbar? Habt Ihr hierzu etwas bemerkt? Ein weiterer Aspekt: Welche Folgen hat(te) die Wirtschaftskrise in Spanien auf das dortige Bibliothekswesen und die Studienwahlentscheidung/Berufsaussichten bei Schülern für den Beruf des Bibliothekars/der Bibliothekarin? Leider war ich nicht vor Ort.
Ein winziges Detail wäre in dieser Zeitschriftenausgabe noch anzufügen: In diesem Jahr, am 9. November 2014 stimmen 7,5 Millionen Katalanen über die Unabhängigkeit und ihre Selbstständig von Spanien ab. Ähnlich wie in Bayern werden auch dort Zahlungen an wirtschaftlich weniger starke Provinzen beklagt.Gab es auf der Bobcatsss-Tagung hierzu schon Vorträge über Szenarios, welche sich auf mögliche Veränderungen des Bibliothekswesens dort bezogen? Das hätte mich im Speziellen noch interessiert. Es sei noch auf den YOU-TUBE-Kanal verwiesen, in dem einige Vorträge der Tagung zu sehen sind.
