Jeroen de Boer arbeitet im Servicebereich der Bibliotheken in der Provinz Friesland (Niederlande). Er ist sich dem Druck bewusst, welchem Bibliotheken heutzutage ausgesetzt sind. Als ein Innovationsspezialist führt er neue Methoden ein, um die Bibliothekskultur weiterzuentwickeln und zu nutzen. Hierzu zählt unter anderem das Frysklab. Das Labor beschreibt der Redner näher in seinem Vortrag. Jeroen de Boer ist ein vehementer Unterstützer der Art und Weise, was Bibliotheken von der Maker-Bewegung lernen können. Sein derzeitiges Hauptprojekt ist das sogenannte FryskLab, die Mobile Library FabLab (die erste ihrer Art in Europa).
